Hi! This blog is the story of my journey to slim, and all the trials & tribulations along the way. I'm a busy single mom, and needed a place to vent & share my diet stuff.
I started my diet after reading a piece in the local paper about a lady who had gastric bypass surgery. She'd lost 200lbs, and I looked at the picture of her & realized that SHE LOOKED LIKE ME, even at 100lbs higher than my weight. It finally clicked that yes, I am FAT. And I read about all her reasons for not being happy at her top weight of 600lbs - things like not being about to play with her daughter, walk, etc and realized that they were all true for me too.
So I set out to find a diet that worked. I've done Weight Watchers in the past, and while the old plans worked okay the new plans they have now I actually gain on. I tried my old Weight Watcher plans again - no budge on the scale. So I asked my Dr. what she recommended - her answer was Medifast. But Medifast is expensive, and I just don't have the cash for that as a single mom. Google was my friend, and I found Wonderslim. Same concept as Medifast, at a fraction of the cost. Ordered a test box & they are great. But still not affordable to me most of the time, especially when I am in this for the long haul. So I took the Wonderslim meal plans & catalog and went shopping at my normal grocery stores. And found substitutes that I could buy easily, at a lower cost, and even with SNAP {Food Stamps} in most cases. Sometimes they are better, sometimes they don't taste quite as good as Wonderslim. But they are in my budget.
This blog is the story of my journey to slim, using these products. I am hoping to post daily or every other day with complete meal plans, reviews, and my trials & tribulations.
